OIC 2009 Organizing Team

OIC was conceived in a TalentBridge discussion on a TalentBridge Friday in June 2009 as the group was brainstorming to develop initiatives that can encourage and energise youth entrepreneurship in Ottawa. Manu Sharma, the Manager of TalentBridge, and Steve Robins, pursuing his TalentBridge internship at that time, had both been working on related ideas and that specific discussion helped give shape to what was subsequently launched as “Ottawa Innovation Challenge”.

2009 was the first delivery of OIC, and leading the 2009 initiative were:

 

Will Armstrong, a Carleton Mechanical Engineering student  currently in a TalentBridge placement withThinkSM; 

Steve Robins, a UWO Business and Computer Science student currently in a TalentBridge placement with Benbria;

Manu Sharma, Manager of TalentBridge and Manager for Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Support at OCRI. 

Amanda Emmanuel, a Carleton Information Technology student currently in a TalentBridge placement with SuitesonLine has been instrumental in the design and layout of the OIC web presence and OIC media support.

Sonia Riahi, a Masters of Engineering Student at Ottawa University with a past TalentBridge placement with Gallium, has led an administritive role in the OIC 2009 Organizing Committee.
